SALVATION ARMY MEAL VOLUNTEER SIGN-UP

Overview

We are continuing our bi-monthly Salvation Army meal on Thursday, December 10th, 2009. But some things are new this time around. From now on, I'm providing a sort of blue-print menu so you don't have to completely decide what to bring. All you have to do is look at the options posted below and pick one that you can make and sign up for it. This way we can be certain we aren't getting 5 of the same thing.

Drinks and bread are already there. The meal is always the second thursday of even-numbered months and is served at 5:30. Please have your dish there by 5:15 at the very latest, because they are promptly in line and ready to eat at 5:30. If you can, please sign up to stay and serve as well. It is easy and we don't have to do dishes or anything and it takes about an hour.

Here is the blueprint menu (obviously it is general, so be creative with whatever you sign up for). And you should plan to make enough to feed 15-30, depending on how popular you think your dish will be:

Roasted Chicken or Ham

Beef Stew

Mashed Potatoes or a White Rice (to accompany stew)

A corn-based dish

A Pasta salad OR Pasta-based Casserole

Steamed or Boiled veggies (your choice on the veggies)

Banana Bread

Fruit Salad or Fruit Pizza

Brownies

(This menu is not meant to be exclusive. Want to be creative and make something I didn't list? Feel free.)
