SALVATION ARMY MEAL VOLUNTEER SIGN-UP

Overview

Our volunteer-led monthly meal to the Salvation Army Hope Center continues on Thursday, August 4, 2011.

Drinks and bread are provided by the Hope Center. Dinner is served promptly at 5:30, so please have your dish there by 5:15 at the very latest -- or come early to cook on site. Residents typically serve the meal, though we do help out if an extra pair of hands are needed. We are welcome to share dinner with the residents so long as there is enough food to go around, and the evening concludes by 6:30 (we don't even have to do dishes).

In August we're throwing a pizza party! We'll aim to feed 40 people ample servings of pizza, sides and dessert. A list of suggested ingredients follows, but please feel free to get creative!

For dough: flour (3 bags), olive oil, yeast

Meat toppings: chicken, sausage, pepperoni

Veggie toppings: tomatoes, broccoli, onion, olives, bell peppers... the list goes on and on!

Pizza sauce

Possible sides: corn, green beans, salad

Possible desserts: brownies, cookies, ice cream
