CSA Event - 3/19/08

Schedule

Brent Wiersma from Moondance Meadows proposes an agenda in the message that follows:

Because we can not attend the breakfast, I offer the following suggestions for the format of CSA event.  A lap top computer with CD drive and a projector should be available for the event.  Farmers with electronic presentations should submit them for uploading to the event organizer (or the keeper of the lap top) by Tuesday, March 18.  If this is not done, the farmer will not be allowd to use electronic media (otherwise everyone else suffers with wasted time setting up presentations).  Farmers should show up before the event starts on March 19 to set up a table that will be used to promote their farm and sell CSA shares (I would suggest that they show up by 6:00 pm and help with other set up as well).

Welcome and Introduction (explain the basics of how a CSA works) - Nick Hylla  10 minutes
Farm Presentations - 10 minutes (max) per farm in the following order (60 minutes total)
    Sunny Sky
    Moondance Meadows
    Maplewood Farms
    Whitefeather Farms
    Malek Farms
    Biodiversecity

Open table time for attendees to discuss farm specifics with farmers/gardeners - 45 minutes

This format represents our opinion about how the event should be organized.  Please let us know the final decision about how the event will be organized.

Thanks for all your help.

3/13 I agree with Brent that all of the presentations must be limited to 10 minutes. But, I think that as long as the farmers get to the event by 6:00 pm to get their presentations on the computer, that would be fine. Stoney Acres farm will also be there. If we go by seniority, they would present after Maplewood Gardens. I would also be open to someone else facilitating the event.  Nick
3/13  I don't know how you assess seniority, but, since I will probably be late due to the work load in the woods, it might be best to put me last.  And thanks, Nick, for remembering that it is Maplewood Gardens and not Maplewood Farms.   David
3/13 We wouldn't have an electronic or computerized presentation that would need loading on a laptop.  Perhaps in the future, this might be nice, but now we're not set up for that.--just talking to people.   Bobby
